Top Tip: Coming Along Side
Do you sometimes struggle coming alongside and docking at the wharf?
Here are some quick tips you can use next time you are out on the water!
- When you are looking to dock your boat, try, when you can, do it into the wind and the weather which will help you as a break.
- Pick your spot and angle your boat at a 45-degree angle.
- Keep your speed nice and slow- you can do this by going in and out of gear (you can still steer this way)
- Start to really shallow your angle as you approach
- Put the engine in a stern, turning it towards the wharf which will pull the back of the boat in.
